Always fun to have some kind of a little fun event at holiday parties, One that I attended years ago that actually was a batch of my ebay friends is this:
Everyone can pull down an item (or you probably have it laying around somewhere ...) that isn't worth a lot of money.... (and of course isn't offensive) and put it in a bag or if you are in the "spirit of the seasons" throw some ebay tissue paper around it or a brown bag with an ebay sticker/tape. We then number the "bags" and we have already given everyone a ticket as they came in. We start drawing and the person that their number drawn first, says "I wan't bag/box #2" They then open it and show everyone. Then the second person picks a bag, if they like it they keep it, but they can exchange it with the first item .... the goal is kinda to end up with what is the best of the worst... because if you are number 10 drawn you can keep what you got or you can take any of the nine previous "gifts." OR for a quicker game you just show what you got and we keep drawing and showing until they are all gone. In the old days, they were called "White Elephant Gifts" which by tradition was something you were going to get rid of but just hadn't gotten around to it.. . I think I will bring that old address thingie, that was metal and you pulled down a metal tab till you got to he letter you wanted and you pushed a button and it opened up.... or a cassette tape player with those push buttons, or those "I will make a lot on these" three beanie babies (Canada, USA and Ireland), or a cigar ashtray, glass that weighs five pounds. "Yes," I have all of them.
However if no one is interested in this I OK with that. . . it is a fun game and you go home with your very own xxxxxx.... Cherry Emerson
