There's thousands of listings for stuff like yours on eBay. How does the buyer decide which items to click on and explore in more detail?
Your main photo in search results drives your 'click-through's. How should that be composed? What methods can you use to convey multiple messages in just a single image? How do you make your photo look different from others selling the same item?
Why do some images appeal to the human eye and others not? How can you harness your buyers' unconscious instincts to sell more than the competition?
Photos communicate much more than just the item that you have for sale. They are the first opportunity for the buyer assesses you as a seller. Properly composed, they can create a powerful positive impression about how you prepare your items and how knowledgeable you are about your category. Find out how your images can market you, as well as your product.
This is a presentation by Philip Jackson. Philip has been selling full time on eBay for over 10 years. With well over $3 million in eBay sales, he's taken tens of thousands of pro-grade photos in his home product photography studio. He's constantly re-evaluating his photography approach based upon what best drives eBay sales. He'll share his methods, and you can also offer your tips and tricks to the group.
Don't worry, this is a non-technical talk about composing images that sell. We won't get into the technicalities of cameras, lights or lenses.
Out of area meeting participants are extremely welcome.
