Is anyone interested in trying eBay Live?

Summary: Danielle Craun shared that eBay has opened registration for its eBay Live platform, sparking curiosity and prompting questions about the group's interest in this format. Melinda Evans and Carolina C both expressed reluctance, with no immediate plans to sign up, while Holly Bell shared their experience with live selling on Whatnot, noting its mixed success and the tendency to sell below online prices. Ken Kelly is curious but feels inexperienced, while Hollie Landram has started the application process, bolstered by some prior experience on other platforms. Carol D'Agnese is interested in seeing others try it, particularly for non-clothing items, despite lacking time to join in themselves.
AI Summary

eBay just opened registration for more sellers to apply for eBay Live, their livestream selling platform.

It made me curious how many sellers in our group might be interested in experimenting with this format. I know so many already do on other platforms.

A few questions for the group:

• Is anyone planning to apply for eBay Live?
• Has anyone already tried live selling on platforms like Whatnot or Poshmark?
• If any of us get accepted, would it be helpful to practice together or share tips as we learn?

To make it easier for us to support each other, I also added channels in our GroupMe where members can share their Whatnot and Poshmark accounts so we can follow each other’s shows.

I’m also working on a flyer for my own live shows and thought it might be fun to share ideas like that too.

Curious to hear what everyone thinks - is this something our group should explore together?

I unfortunately don't have any experience with Live or followers so I think I may hold off for right now.

Not excited about live selling but would try it. But also not signing up anytime soon.

I've done about 5 shows on Whatnot. Some were more successful than others. It worked when I was moving to trim down inventory or sell off personal collections. I did make money, but far from top dollar. Many of the buyers I attracted originally were other resellers looking for a cheap deal. I think you have to go into it knowing you will be selling below online prices.

That said, I would try it on Ebay, but I'd like to attend some shows first so I can get a feel for how they go. Also- it seems like they are gate-keeping it pretty closely. Is that your sense of it too?

Curious to see what it's all about and how it works. What are the requirements? I don't think that I'm that experienced enough to try it at this time. I've still got a lot to learn about eBay listing and selling.

I've started the application process, but I'm just getting started with social media business accounts so I don't have followers. I'm on whatnot and I've done live auctions so I hope that helps me out.

I don't have the time to jump into this but would love to see you if you do it Danielle. I'm not a heavy clothing seller but wonder if other items sell?
